چکیده

The objectives of this study were to investigate the shifts in rumen and colon mucosa-associated microbiota dairy calves fed a high milk replacer feeding rate before after weaning determine whether such are associated with tissue physiological measures. Longitudinal biopsy was performed collect mucosal tissues 4 ruminally cannulated Holstein bull (weaned at 6 wk age) end 5 (before weaning), 7 (weaning adaptation) 12 (after used assess their changes using amplicon sequencing. Both bacterial communities shifted during process, as evidenced by clear separation among 3 different periods increased ? diversity (Shannon Chao1 indices) transition. Among dominant phyla identified (relative abundance >1.0%), relative Proteobacteria Bacteroidetes decreased mucosa, whereas Firmicutes both mucosa In Campylobacter (0.6–22.1%) gradually became prevalent transition, Succinivibrio (6.2–10.3%) Prevotella 1 (4.7–10.5%) regardless Bacteroides (12.8–25.4%) although its weaning. meantime, uncultured Lachnospiraceae from 2.2% 25.7% period. addition, genera Pyramidobacter (in mucosa) Lachnoclostridium positively correlated papilla surface area thickness, respectively. Moreover, Ruminococcaceae UCG-005 Sharpea molar proportion propionate butyrate, Overall, our findings revealed that altered response some taxa these may have positive effects on development

Effects of Probiotic and Chromium-Methionine on Thyroid Hormones, Total Protein, Zinc, and Weight Gain in Dairy Holstein Calves During the Weaning Period

BACKGROUND: Many additives have been recommended to calf feed but the effects of each supplement have been under investigation especially during weaning stress. OBJECTIVES: The effects of dietary supplementation of probiotic (Protexin) and chromium-methionine che- late (Cr-Met) on triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), total protein, albumin, zinc, and gr...

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

Development of Ruminal and Fecal Microbiomes Are Affected by Weaning But Not Weaning Strategy in Dairy Calves

The nature of weaning, considered the most stressful and significant transition experienced by dairy calves, influences the ability of a calf to adapt to the dramatic dietary shift, and thus, can influence the severity of production losses through the weaning transition. However, the effects of various feeding strategies on the development of rumen or fecal microbiota across weaning are yet to ...

Dietary impacts on rumen microbiota in beef and dairy production

The reticulo-rumen is the largest compartment of the ruminant digestive tract, and it harbors a complex anaerobic microbial community capable of producing a wide array of enzymes, some of which are important for the breakdown of plant lignocellulosic and non-structural carbohydrate (starch, sugars) material through the process of fermentation (Russell and Rychlik, 2001). Important outcomes of m...

Effect of dietary forage sources on rumen microbiota, rumen fermentation and biogenic amines in dairy cows.

BACKGROUND Fifteen lactating Holstein dairy cows were assigned to three diets in a 3 × 3 Latin square design to evaluate the effects of dietary forage sources on rumen microbiota, rumen fermentation and biogenic amines. Diets were isonitrogenous and isocaloric, with a forage/concentrate ratio of 45:55 (dry matter basis) but different main forage sources, namely cornstalk (CS), Leymus chinensis ...
